After 1 powerdac v2 and 9030S bought one for single ended use. Quality is the same as 9038S so it is just excellent
I received the item very quickly (2 weeks) and carefully packaged. Linsoul kept me well informed about the shipment. The product came in excelent condition and the first hearing impressions of E1DA 9038D are realy amazing!
Nevertheless, I must also totally agree with the very detailed and knowlegeable opinion of Kevin C below, about the limitations in the user friendly (and not only) experience, mostly concerning the loudness asjustment. I connected relative sensitive and low impedance headphones (Etymotic ER4) and the default maximum output was dangerously loud, as Kevin states. Unfortunately I dont know how to adjust a lower volume limit (apparently through the Tweak app).
Having sad that, the sound of the sound of this mini dac is realy amazing, the clarity and the details, as well as the power that delivers!!
The sound quality at least, is by far the best I've come across in a device of this size or price. By that metric alone, it's a great value and highly recommended. However, there are some issues with the usability that I can't overlook. Unfortunate as it is, the clumsiness of the user experience casts a shadow over the brilliance of the technical achievement in the hardware. The device needs a bit of tinkering to set up for use, and the default maximum output (for most headphones), is dangerously loud. Thankfully, it's adjustable to a lower limit--quite a nice feature, actually.
By default, following two minutes of silence the device will switch to a standby mode to limit unnecessary power draw. This is a nice feature, but the device pops incredibly loudly every time the switch occurs, to the point where, until I found an alt firmware to disable the standby feature, it disincentivized me from using the thing at all.
The other issue, and one I suppose I simply have to accept, is the volume control. See, the volume changes in such large steps that a one click difference on a phone can easily be the difference between a bit too loud and a bit too quiet. The other consequence of this coarseness is that the bottom 50 out of the 100 steps of the volume slider are effectively useless--the lower half of the controllable range amounts to, essentially, varying degrees of unlistenably quiet.
Being that the device appears to be designed as a simple, no-nonsense solution to high quality audio, to me the device only delivers on half of the promise and as such I can only cautiously recommend it, and only until something else can deliver a comparable sound quality with a better user experience at the price.

For Standard Shipping, it takes about 2-3 weeks for items to be delivered after shipping out. For some countries, it might take up to 2-3 months, depending on your country and its customs. The duration for transit is something beyond our control. Linsoul will not be making refunds for such cases. Please consider an upgrade to DHL Express or keep the waiting time in mind.
For Express Shipping, it takes about 3-7 days for items to be delivered after shipping out.

Customers have to bear any form of custom/import/processing fees that are applicable for your parcel.
Should you be unwilling to pay for the fees and reject the delivery of the parcel, you will still have to pay for the shipping cost. Linsoul will only refund the amount of your order after deducting the shipping cost incurred.
