Resounding Bass

The Kiwi Ears Quartet was designed around our new sobaric double dynamic driver subwoofer. The innovative driver design utilizes two 10mm titanium diaphragms drivers, each independently driven by dual magnetic circuits. The pair of drivers were passively aligned to be phase synced and prevent soundwave cancellation. This new subwoofer design emits extremely well extended sub-bass kicks that are tighter, faster, and deeper than any other previous woofer designs. The Quartet is Kiwi Ear’s answer for all those who want a fun in-ear monitor that will provide all the quality bass one could need.

Harmonious Balance

Although the Quartet is a bass-centric IEM, we still aimed to provide a natural tonal balance. This goal was centered around the need to provide a textured and powerful bass, but without any muddying or dulling in the mids or treble. The dynamic drivers were crossed over using a passive low-pass network at 350Hz to allow plenty of rich and thick bass, while the mids from 350-1kHz were tuned to be completely flat.

This allows an accurate tonality in the mids like that of neutral studio monitors, while giving a hint of warmth in the lower mids. This means the Quartet will sound thunderous in the bass, but still clean and flat in the mids, preventing unwanted bloating found in most earphones.

Custom Balanced Armature Drivers

The Quartet features a custom mid-high frequency balanced armature and a custom ultra-high tweeter balanced armature drivers. These drivers were modified to fit the balance of the new dynamic drivers by a tuned venting system to provide more airflow. Following Kiwi Ears’ tradition, the balanced armatures are passively tuned to fit our in-house target curvature for the mids and trebles. This means the mid-treble provides crisp and clean tone to vocals and instruments, without sounding either dull or nasally. The highs are detailed with plenty of sparkle for professional performance usage, but are natural and free of shrillness or fatigue.

Recommended Usages

The Quartet can be thought of as neutral studio monitors, but with sub-bass and bass emphasis beginning at 350Hz. This provides a little bit more of body, texture, and richness in the lower mids, but neutral mids and upper mids. The Quartet is perfect for performance drummers and bass guitarists who require powerful and impactful lows. Music enthusiasts who want quality bass but a natural tonality will also benefit from the Quartet’s tuning balance.

Awesome earphones! My new go-to IEMs

I got to review these IEMs and posted the video on my YouTube channel @BandOnABudgetNZ
Only thing I didn't like or completely understand was the little switch toggles on the earphones, kinda pointless and/or unnoticeable. Aside from that I really like these earphones, they work great for my needs when playing bass guitar and drives in a live gig or rehearsal.

Sounds okay, but not impressed

I owned previously some much cheaper KZ ZS10 Pro that sounded alright and were very comfortable to wear for several hours.

It took 40 days to receive them, not really an issue as this was a pre-order and I know about the delays we can expect from Linsoul.

Now that I have tried the Quartet, I can say that I am not really impressed by the sound. I did not find any improvement in sound quality so far. Maybe they need to be broken in. I think that the mids are less present and that it lacks something, not sure what. Also they are less comfortable to wear than my KZ, the fit in my ear is not great, I have to push them deep or they will pop out. I double checked that I used the correct side. Maybe that affects my impression of overall sound quality.

On the plus side the cable is nice and there is is a interesting choice of different ear plugs, they is a black set, a white set and a grey/red set. Not sure if these are any different besides the color.

Some more detailed instructions about assembly would have been great. There is no L/R marking on the IEMs and the cable separates into a white and red one. Is the red one for the Right side ? I had to guess.

They also look great, it is prettier to see the real thing than seeing it on the photos.

But, I don't know. I'm kind of disappointed, I guess I expected something different about the sound quality and comfort of use. I will continue to use them and see if I like them better over time.

Perfect combo of fun and relaxed

If you're looking for an IEM that doesn't have too bright or aggressive sound, but yet not completely neutral or too relaxed, the Quartet strikes a great balance.

It's fun with a lot of music genres, nice bass, pleasant smooth mids. Easy to listen to, like a fully grown Cadenza :)

Balanced, smooth, with slightly bass boost

Beautiful design, nice build quality except the cable looks standard. Sound quality is really nice, has balance tuning, smooth with slightly bass boost. more nice to have is tuning switch! 4 different sound signature. all ON switch is more favorite sound for me.
for more detail, pros, cons, etc please check my youtube channel, I will upload ASAP.

Kiwi Ears Quartet: The Most Fun Kiwi Ears!

"The Kiwi Ears Quartet diverts from Kiwi Ears’ mature tuning for a more fun but still elegant-looking IEM that caters to the most popular genres. Its solid fit and well-rounded warm tuning makes it a solid set, but beware the coherency issues that leads to a metallic sounding upper mids to treble and the somewhat subpar technicalities for the price. Purple gang!"

Fantastic sound , great comfort

Have tried a number of iem's and the quartet is by far the most enjoyable yet. The ability to change the sound profiles with the dip switches is excellent and makes them very versatile.
They are great for listening to music, movies and extremely good for gaming , in fact a great all rounder .
Comfort is exceptional and the look fantastic to boot.
All up a great buy at twice the price

UNDERRATED

This set is great for many reasons but I was mostly impressed with how it did in first-person shooter video games. The technical capabilities of the Quartet really enhanced the experience of my gaming sessions. Also the shell is gorgeous, highly recommend.
