New $35 standard to beat

Very great tuning and performance for this price, makes former $50-100 choices like aria hard to recommend anymore. Upper treble extension is the only part keeping this from competing with $150-200 iems, otherwise keeps up in every other way. From 8khz down, couldn't ask for anything better, solid budget to go from now on, or until they release another variant in like 3 months, with how fast this scene is moving...

Extremely great product

The ZS10 Pro X's are great IEMs. They're clear the bass is good and the sound quality could just be flabbergasting. However, the highs can get a little too high and the mids too low, if this can be balanced that would do it for me.

Reliable and efficient fun planar

Very good sound, very good built, cable upgraded with a shielded copper ofc gives all the beauty to shine. Very comfortable and probably prefer this set then the Letshuore S12. Needs good decent amp to drive those clear sub-base. Reccomanded as well great Linsoul delivery and feedback.

crunchy sound

Gets crunchy on many simultaneous instruments or crash cymbal, issue is not present in same iems when wired.

At first great, but one month in the volume in the speakers was different

Just as the title says, one month in the right speaker sounds a lot quieter than the one on the right. It's a potty because they were great headphones

Fun V shape, bad quality build.

They have a fun sounding signature, with good Bass and good details in Treble. Mids is present and smooth but taken back in quantity over the highs and lows.

The build quality itself is the problem, talked with others on Head-fi also. They have very bad driver flex from when they arrive. And it gets worse over time.

1 driver is loose and rattling when bass is present, the other making a resonant noise around 120Hz.

For the money they would get 4/5, but the build drags them down. Lots of other product that is better to buy.

Also have it in your mind that Linsoul is not very helpful if a problem arrives,, you have to send them back and pay postage that can be up to half the price of Tipsy Ttromso.

Love it

I've had my fair share of big brand earphones, and this is my first-time diving into IEM territory. I really love this one. It's comfortable, and it sounds really nice. I'd recommend it to anyone in a heartbeat.

Very detailed and engaging with excellent price

Compared with the original Hook-x (i own both) the upper bass boost probably generated through the bone conductor is much recessed in the HBB tuning. I love the HBB tuning in the higher regions. Cymbals sounds crisp like in a live session. This is my first IEM with such a good representation. As the original version this IEM is engaging and fun to listen. I think the price is very competitive and can compete without problems with my high priced IEMS such as Sennheiser IE600 or Campfire Solaris. The IE600 has a similar tuning to the HBB Hook X.
The HBB Hook X cable is the same cable as the original Hook X cable but in blue.
The cable looks good and represents a good value with the universal connectors but delivers a granular representation in the highs. I am using a DUNU silver plated cable instead with much better acoustic results.

TLDR; great IEM with a rather substandard QC

I love this IEM since the very first time I heard it. it's neutral with a potent sub-bass response that's perfect for a large part of my library. while I think the midrange is exemplary, the bass quality is below average for a kilo-buck set, yet, it sounds "natural" enough to my ears with great rumble than slam, and I can accept that. the treble is smooth and sparkly at the same time, there's no hint of brightness or harshness, and far from being sibilant. I think overall, it's tonally pleasant and "natural" enough for a tribrid set.

In the technical department, I find Monarch MKii is definitely a TOTL-type, a reference style that's very studio monitor-like. huge resolution with excellent micro detail retrieval. the sense of space is nice with good width and height, although a bit lacking in depth as its presentation is somewhat "intimate". so, it's like watching a 4K monitor up close. you can see everything and focus on any point you want. in terms of dynamic contrast, it's pretty good in macro dynamic but not as great as the Oracle in micro decibel shift. thus, it could appear "flat" to some. but remember, it's like watching a 4K monitor up close, so, it's a bit hard to see the whole picture.

I think the overall performance does justice to the asking price. good engineering!

the "other" story:
I received my first pair in April early this year, and while I like everything about the package (except the carrying case and the uneven/unmatched faceplate), somehow the dynamic driver in the right earpiece stopped working in August. I was glad because it's still under the warranty. so, I sent it back to the local shop I was dealing with. after about 2 months and a week later, I received a brand new pair of Monarch MKii as a replacement! I was so happy although the waiting is somewhat tiresome. great job to Linsoul & ThieAudio team!

3 weeks later, the right earpiece showed a sign of driver failure! there's a sort of minimal buzzing or distortion like a static noise from time to time. I'm not sure what causes it as I treat them like a baby all the time.

I own many different IEMs from many different brands and none of them have any kind of driver failure for years of usage. I think this kind of issue is unacceptable because, at this price, we as customers expect perfection.

I'm not writing this to lambast the company or as an act of fearmongering, but rather to share my experience and report it so that the company can improve in every department as a whole (strengthen the QC). not to mention the other issues I had with my other ThieAudio products like Legacy 3, Voyagers, & the Oracle. so, QC issues are frequent in my experience. I also understand that driver failure or most QC issues is normal and I also believe ThieAudio did their best, yet it's not enough. so, it's either the QC is bad or I'm just very unlucky, yes? nevertheless, this is going to be my last purchase of ThieAudio products. I love them but until then.
