Resounding Bass

The Kiwi Ears Quartet was designed around our new sobaric double dynamic driver subwoofer. The innovative driver design utilizes two 10mm titanium diaphragms drivers, each independently driven by dual magnetic circuits. The pair of drivers were passively aligned to be phase synced and prevent soundwave cancellation. This new subwoofer design emits extremely well extended sub-bass kicks that are tighter, faster, and deeper than any other previous woofer designs. The Quartet is Kiwi Ear’s answer for all those who want a fun in-ear monitor that will provide all the quality bass one could need.

Harmonious Balance

Although the Quartet is a bass-centric IEM, we still aimed to provide a natural tonal balance. This goal was centered around the need to provide a textured and powerful bass, but without any muddying or dulling in the mids or treble. The dynamic drivers were crossed over using a passive low-pass network at 350Hz to allow plenty of rich and thick bass, while the mids from 350-1kHz were tuned to be completely flat.

This allows an accurate tonality in the mids like that of neutral studio monitors, while giving a hint of warmth in the lower mids. This means the Quartet will sound thunderous in the bass, but still clean and flat in the mids, preventing unwanted bloating found in most earphones.

Custom Balanced Armature Drivers

The Quartet features a custom mid-high frequency balanced armature and a custom ultra-high tweeter balanced armature drivers. These drivers were modified to fit the balance of the new dynamic drivers by a tuned venting system to provide more airflow. Following Kiwi Ears’ tradition, the balanced armatures are passively tuned to fit our in-house target curvature for the mids and trebles. This means the mid-treble provides crisp and clean tone to vocals and instruments, without sounding either dull or nasally. The highs are detailed with plenty of sparkle for professional performance usage, but are natural and free of shrillness or fatigue.

Recommended Usages

The Quartet can be thought of as neutral studio monitors, but with sub-bass and bass emphasis beginning at 350Hz. This provides a little bit more of body, texture, and richness in the lower mids, but neutral mids and upper mids. The Quartet is perfect for performance drummers and bass guitarists who require powerful and impactful lows. Music enthusiasts who want quality bass but a natural tonality will also benefit from the Quartet’s tuning balance.

Very impresed

Sound grate for gaming and music, feel very premium (both the cable and the iem's themselves), switches make a difference and are very interesting to play around with, the case is very nice too, came basically in 10 days and I'm very happy with them

Kiwi Ears Quartet

Hello there,

We are sorry that our product did not satisfy you.

The sound is very subjective. So we can totally understand that some people might not like the sound of these headphones.

We will also share your feedback with the manufacturer to make the product better and better in the future.

At the same time, we also sincerely suggest that you contact us at any time by email support@Linsoul.com if you encounter any problems during use, and we will do our best to solve them for you.

We appreciate your understanding and support.

KIWI EARS QUARTET: FOUR SONIC PROFILES FROM QUAD DRIVERS

This is my second product review for Kiwi Ears as I previously did a review on their first single dynamic driver in the entry-level category, The Cadenza. This is Kiwi Ears Quartet and it is a hybrid driver set-up IEM with toggle switches for different types of tuning. How will the Kiwi Ears Quartet be able to compete with other sets with similar features?

PROS:

△ Beautiful and well-crafted acrylic resin shells.
△ Quite lightweight and probably has one of the best UIEM-style shell form factor when it comes to fitting and comfort as it snugs well into my lugholes.
△ Working toggle switches.
△ Good quality stock cable.
△ A plenty amount of ear tips to choose from
△Good quality IEM carrying case for stowage.
△ Easy to amplify as it scales well to all known sources.
△ A warmish U-shaped sound signature that will be likeable to majority type of casuallisteners.
△ Robust bass response.
△ Warm and textured midrange
△ Smooth and relaxed treble register.
△ Analogue-ish tonality the will gives a more pleasant and engaging listening experience.

CONS:

▽ Occurrences of mid bass smearing across to other frequencies due to its boomy nature that it sounds a bit bloated.
▽ Will not give a lively, vibrant and energetic sound on sopranos and tenors
▽ Too warm sounding in my preference on sound quality.
▽ Overall mediocre technical performance.

Great Sound

Great sounding with decent resolution and staging. Sound switches add versitality. Good cable. Comfortable for long periods.

Great value

For the price these are hard to beat.

Detailed, but not the best sounding.

Staging is not the widest, and some instruments come across as too hard and harsh for my liking, such as drum snares.

Unique sound

All the combinations of the drivers gives off a very one of a kind sound that I haven't hear before

Satisfying bass, comfortable shape, good looks

The Quartet is an easy to wear set for me, despite it's larger than average size shell the fit works great for my ears. The bass response is warm, and that colors to the sound of the IEM, which means it's well suited for genres where you're looking for a warm, relaxing and satisfying sound.

The sound stage is a little more claustrophobic than some $200+ I have, but I kind of expect that at this price point. There's also some treble extension that's missing, or some sparkle on the high end. But again, I think that's the concession that had to be made to achieve a low price point.

And that's the long and short of the Quartet, I think it has exceptional looks and a warm bassy sound signature that doesn't bleed too much in to the mids at an attractive price for what's included. To me, it's a solid 4/5 product that I can bring with me to work and not worry too much about them walking away but not sacrificing much to have that comfort. (P.S. I HIGHLY recommend getting a matching cable to complete the look)
