ONIX XM2
Compact Design, True ONIX DNA
The ONIX XM2 brings together two iconic design philosophies from the ONIX lineup: the pure musical focus of the Overture XM5 and the ultra-compact form factor of the Waltz XM10. By merging these approaches, XM2 delivers unmistakable ONIX sound quality in a highly portable, affordable, and practical music player—perfect for audiophiles who value performance without bulk.
Flagship Cirrus Logic DAC Architecture
XM2 is the first ONIX player to feature the flagship Cirrus Logic CS4308P, a next-generation 8-channel DAC enabling a fully balanced circuit design. Compared to previous Cirrus Logic implementations, this architecture delivers a major leap in resolution, dynamics, and tonal accuracy. Paired with ONIX’s in-house “Brighton” I/V conversion circuit and dual SGM amplification stages, XM2 outputs up to 800mW @ 32Ω with extremely low output impedance, making it suitable for both demanding headphones and ultra-sensitive IEMs.
Pure Music Operating System
Powered by the Ingenic X2000 platform, XM2 runs a highly optimized in-house music operating system focused purely on sound performance. Free from smartphone-style distractions, it delivers fast response, stable playback, and uninterrupted high-fidelity audio. Music can be played locally from MicroSD cards, streamed via Tidal, or accessed through DLNA and AirPlay for a seamless listening experience.
Complete Feature Set, ONIX Style
Housed in a precision-crafted aluminum chassis, XM2 offers comprehensive modern connectivity. Bi-directional Bluetooth supports both wireless streaming from smartphones and direct connection to Bluetooth headphones or speakers. USB digital output enables integration with external DACs, while USB DAC mode allows XM2 to function as a high-quality audio interface for computers and mobile devices. Optional magnetic phone case compatibility further enhances portability and flexibility. Magnetic phone case sold separately.
Intuitive Control and Premium Display
XM2 features a 3-inch square OLED touch screen with sharp 720p resolution, paired with physical buttons and a dedicated volume wheel for precise control. Remote operation is also supported via the Eddict Player app using SyncLink, allowing full control directly from your smartphone.

ONIX XM2 Tocata – I’m just going to say it : For those who don't need Android, I think this might be the best pure digital audio player in the hobby right now, and at $449.00, that statement is borderline ridiculous. The XM2 Tocata throws out an expansive and dimensional presentation with excellent depth, layering, positionality, and black background, creating a mature sense of space that allows instruments and vocals to occupy their own little pockets of the stage. The treble is crisp, airy, smooth, and extended, with enough incisiveness and shimmer to not be boring or rolled off, and without any brittle glare or artificial edge that can make some highly resolving DAPs sound more impressive than natural. The midrange might be the star, as it's musical, detailed, naturally weighted, and transparent, allowing vocals and instruments to breathe while still pulling micro-detail and texture from the recording without being too analytical or dry. Low end has a mild mid-bass lift that brings warmth, punch, and natural tonal body, yet remains controlled, nimble and resolving, with enough sub-bass depth to satisfy without turning the presentation into a bass carnival. What absolutely blows my mind is that this tiny brick, the size of a deck of cards, can stand toe-to-toe sonically with DAPs I've heard that cost hundreds—and in some cases thousands—more, including the Shanling M8T, A&K SP3000T, HiBy R6 III, and FiiO M23. The OLED screen is brilliant, gorgeous in projection, and a standout regardless of lighting or position. The secret weapon though is the POWER. This thing kicks out 800mW of very clean and balanced output power in 4.4mm. Just filthy delivery for palanrs and all-BAs and hard to drive sets. The XM2 Tocata is clean, spacious, natural, resolving, musical, powerful, and mature as hell, and if you can live without the Android ecosystem, ONIX may have just delivered the DAP value proposition of the damn decade?
Suggested pairings : Schiit Vestri, Muse M3 Ultra, Cayin Ru6.
The only complain is that pause button is hard to hit blindly. Everything else is exactly what I wanted and expected
