KZ AZ20: A Perfect Fusion of Technology, Comfort and Exceptional Sound

Have you ever been frustrated by the poor sound quality of your wireless earphones? It's not always your earphones' fault; often, it's about the Bluetooth chip they use. If you desire the convenience of wireless headphones without compromising on sound quality, the KZ AZ20, equipped with a high-end QCC5171 chip, is your solution.

PURE SOUND REDEFINED

KZ AZ20 promises to deliver the purest and most immersive listening experience. In the audio realm, a higher sampling frequency and bitrate translate into richer, more natural sound reproduction. The 24bit 384kHz capability of the QCC5171 chip pushes the boundaries of wireless audio technology, recreating the most intricate details of your music.

UNRIVALED PERFORMANCE

Boasting the QCC5171 chip, currently the pinnacle of Bluetooth technology, KZ AZ20 isn't about false promises. This ultra-high signal-to-noise ratio chip effortlessly covers the frequency response curve of Hi-Fi earphones, providing a clean background sound even under high power output, and offering an unrivaled auditory feast.

ALL-ROUND PERFORMANCE CHAMPION

In terms of sound quality, call performance, overall performance and power consumption, KZ AZ20 stands at the apex. Using Qualcomm's aptX Adaptive technology, the AZ20 supports high-definition audio transmission at 24-bit 48kHz and 24-bit 96kHz, and CD-quality 16-bit 44.1kHz lossless audio through aptX Lossless. The QCC5171, combined with the advanced Qualcomm technologies, delivers a wireless audio quality that rivals wired audio, faster Bluetooth connections, improved range and stability, and enhanced resistance to interference.

TRANSFORM YOUR WIRED EARPHONES INTO WIRELESS

Enjoy the freedom of music without the hassle of tangled wires. With KZ AZ20, a simple plug and unplug quickly turns your wired earphones into professional wireless ones.

COMFORT REIMAGINED

KZ AZ20 boasts an ergonomic design that is based on years of extensive research on human ear contours. The ear hook, made from skin-friendly silicone gel, is pre-molded for a perfect fit. This ensures a secure and comfortable experience even during extended use. Compared to other Bluetooth ear hook products, the AZ20's ear hook volume is reduced by 30%, making it more lightweight and comfortable.

CUSTOMIZED AUDIO EXPERIENCE

With three performance modes: Gaming Mode, Balanced Mode, and Bass Boost Mode, KZ AZ20 allows you to customize your audio experience based on your preferences and the type of content you are listening to.

LASTING BATTERY LIFE

The KZ AZ20 provides approximately 6 hours of playback on a single full charge. With the charging case, the total battery life extends to about 54 hours, allowing you to enjoy your music anytime, anywhere, without worrying about frequent charging.

ENVIRONMENT-FRIENDLY PACKAGING

KZ believes in environmental protection and doesn't inflate prices in its name. AZ20 comes in simple and practical packaging, focusing on the performance of the product, not the luxury of the packaging.

Not at all Aptx-HD (have proof)

I tested KZ-AZ20 with my windows pc and saw that it could not do apt-HD (picture 1). To prove that my dongle can actually handle apt-HD, I connected to my Edifier stax spirit s3 (picture 2) and you can clearly see, that I can choose apt-HD. Picture 3 and 4 shows the product disassembled with my nail. It shows no Qualcomm qcc5171 branding on it at all.

update previous review

in addition to the previous review:
I tested the KZ AZ20 together with the VAORLO QCC3056 adapter - this is the latest and most powerful option that is currently on sale.
AptX HD DOESN'T WORK! AptX Adaptive started, but kz az20 simply loses connection every 10-15 minutes. And without restarting it does not restore the connection.
I checked the adapter (QCC3056) on other headphones - there is no such problem.

What we end up with:
Yes, the AptX Adaptive has finally appeared, but it’s impossible to use it normally.
AptX HD doesn't work at all!
It’s still not clear where the declared three modes of operation are (bass boost, gaming, music) - there are only standard and high performance, which do not change anything at all.

Of the declared functionality, only the connection via SBC and the simplest version of the AptX codec works stably.
KZ AZ20 does not perform ALL declared functions and is not worth the money.

Dear customer,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us regarding the KZ AZ20 and VAORLO QCC3056 adapter. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by the issues you encountered.

Upon review of your feedback, it appears that there may be compatibility issues affecting the functionality of AptX HD and AptX Adaptive with the KZ AZ20. We understand the frustration caused by the intermittent connection loss and acknowledge your concerns about the advertised operational modes.

We value your feedback and are committed to ensuring your satisfaction with our products, please feel free to let us know if you have any other questions.

Have a nice day.

KZ is deceiving customers again!!

In KZ AZ20 it is stated that the adapter is made on the Qualcomm QCC5171 chip - this is a lie.
When connecting to Windows, you can open the device manager and look at the hardware ID - BTHENUM\{0000110b-0000-1000-8000-00805f9b34fb}_LOCALMFG&0002 - THIS IS NOT QUALCOMM!!

Naturally, there is no support for the stated AptX Adaptive and AptX HD. There are also no three declared modes - there is only normal and performance.

Yes, the device works, yes there is sound.
BUT WHERE IS THE DECLARED FUNCTIONALITY?

The maximum price for kz az20 should be no more than 30$.
Never buy anything from KZ.
They deserve nothing but oblivion for treating their customers this way.

Dear customer,

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your KZ AZ20.

We have contacted KZ and received the following information: the functionality of the aptX adaptive mode depends on whether your device supports this feature. We recommend trying the adapter with another device to see if it works correctly.

Additionally, KZ has tested the product and confirmed that it can indeed operate in the aptX adaptive mode under compatible conditions.

We appreciate your understanding and patience. If you continue to experience issues, please let us know, and we will assist you further.

The KZ AZ20 decoding APTX HD

In theory, it decodes in APTX HD , mine only decodes in APTX ( FIIO M5 , CREATIVE BT-W3X ).
There is some way for it to decode in APTX HD?.
