An Entry-Level Killer Set

Moondrop has years of experience in tuning and creating single dynamic driver earphones. The latest CHU is designed to be an entry-level killer set with exceptional clarity and performance. It complements different genres of music well with its nicely detailed and lively tuning.

10mm Composite Diaphragm Dynamic Driver

Moondrop has equipped the CHU with a Nano-Crystal Coating Composite Diaphragm Driver unit. The high-performance composite cavity with high-frequency phased waveguide leverages a N52 Nd magnet internal magnetic circuit and 0.035m ultra-thin imported CCAW sound coil to obtain high energy conversion efficiency, and deliver outstanding performance with full dynamic range and rich details.

Accurate Calculatioof Acoustic Coupling Cavity

In order to match the frequency response as closely as possible to the VDSF Target Response, the acoustic coupling cavity needs to be carefully controlled. Through volume and dimension calculation, FEA finite element simulation and 3D printing experiment verification, an acoustic coupling cavity has been created which can accurately reproduce the ideal frequency response.

Premium Moondrop Spring Tips

Too harsh and shouty, even for neutral-focused earphones

I wanted to love these, and to be fair they have a lot of good qualities: The Chu's are very comfortable, well-made, and stylish. The tips are different compared to most others from cheap IEM's as they are more grippy, but this allows them to stay in the ear securely even without over-the-ear hooks.
But the sound is what really holds them back for me. It's very harsh and shouty, and forward in the mids and trebles, so bass feels a lot lesser and my music sounds more hollow. Even when using a more warm-sounding source like several of my USB-C DACs, the low end sounds underwhelming. I also think they lack the soundstage needed to make neutral sound good.
While they would appeal to people who like neutral sound, for genres like electronic and jazz which need a more forward bass presentation, these are not a good fit.

Happy customer

Moondrop Chu are excellent for the price. Audio quality is too good to be true and i have been using them daily for 2 months. Material feels strong. These are a bit heavy but stay in ear even if you are running. Only negative is that ear canals stretch some after a lot of use at least for me. But arent uncomfortable so its fine.

Great Sounding but better options out there in my opinion

I like the neutral sound and the fit is quite good. Personally prefer the 7Hz zero though since it has a much nicer included cable (that is removable by the way) and fits my ears better. They also don't sound that different in my opinion

Moondrop Chu after 2 months

The sound of these in ears is great, especially considering the price. But the fit doesn't feel as great. The problem is that when the iems ar seated in the ear after half an hour they start to dig into the ear. Apart from thesr are a great choice

They are great sounding IEM’s at a price that is affordable compared to the competition. 🙏

dont recommend

they sound good, look good and feel good. Would be 5 stars, but the left side went quiet out of the blue. I don't recommend these, unless u wanna buy a new pair every couple of months or so.

Pleasantly Surprised

The Chu are surprisingly sharp and clear for iem's at this price. The cable is fairly nice, if a bit unruly. Bass is lacking somewhat, but is present enough to be heard while mids and highs are well presented. Comfort is also a high point, as I can wear them for hours gaming or listening to music and almost forget I'm wearing them.

One of my favorites

I was looking a decent pair of IEM for using them when outside home. CHU did deliver a great performance on sound (music and calls) 5/5 for me especially in this price range.

Good everything, except cable

Everything on the Chus is amazing. The sound is nice and neutral and the fit it pretty nice, however, the cable is disappointing. The non-detachable cable is fine but the stiffness and kinkyness of the cable is a hassle. It's hard to wrap it and it can be annoying. I also had to use the silicone ear hooks because without them, the cable would not stay over my ear. However, everything else on the Chus is great! The neutral sound is nice, but some percussion noises can be a bit harsh, but over all, good soundstage. The build quality is also really nice (excluding the cable). The main selling point, however, are the eartips. with the Chus, you get Moondrop's springtips (12 bucks on their own). These are great and definitely better than moondrop's old stock tips. Overall, although the cable isn't the best, this is definitely worth the buy, but mainly for the tips.
