Collaboration of QKZ Audio & HBB

With over 10 years of professional experience in HiFi industry, QKZ has been known for its extraordinary tuning and production technique. The newly launched earphone from QKZ is a collaboration with trustworthy HBB (Hawaiian Bad Boy from “Bad Guy Good Audio Reviews”). With HBB’s years of experience and large IEM frequency measurement database, QKZ develops this acoustic sound signature that is well-balanced in three frequencies based HBB’s tuning and optimization.

10mm Titanium-Coated Diaphragm

With times of experiments, QKZ acoustic engineers eliminated ordinary diaphragms and eventually selected the unique 10mm Titanium-Coated Diaphragm to deliver a detailed, accurate sound that is different from any other product in the market.

Optimized Magnetic Circuit, Double Power

Enhanced high-intensity magnetic circuit greatly improves bass performance. With HBB’s special tuning, the earphone reproduces crystal clear sounds with enough bass for people who want to crank it out a bit, yet still be able to hear every instrument and vocal details of what is playing through their headphones. It is a good choice for R&B, DJ, stage performance, metal...

CNC Aluminum Faceplate, Resin Shell

The earphone is characterized by a unique logo that is reflective of HBB’s Hawaiian roots-a combination of audio and design. This design has been etched directly into an CNC processed Aluminum faceplate that now matches the clear resin shell. The CNC aluminum alloy faceplate adds durability without weighing you down.

Detachable 2Pin Silver-plated Cable

The earphone comes with a standard detachable cable with optimized recessed 2Pin connector for longer lifespan. Silver-plated cable was selected as material to avoid stethoscope effect. The detachable features makes it easy to connect the device to various devices and ensures more possibilities for those who love to change things up. It provides convenience should your needs change later on.

Cable not comfortable

The earphone itself is a masterpiece no doubt. Great option for bass lover at least. But lack details little bit . But overall no one will hate it's sound quality. However the cable is a prblm. It's low quality but of course it's a cheap earphone, but it just came of so many times that I had to bought another good quality cable so that I can use this earphone so that's frustrating..

For the prize, great sound!

These have surprisingly good audio and sound stage. I did give them a tat on the high end (EQ) but I do like a little sparkle in the sound. And of course, the bass is amazing - deep, thunderous and boomy - perfect for a EDM nerd like me.

Been using these on my PC with a FX AUDIO DAC X6.

$22 IEMs with a $1000 sound

I have had numerous and much more expensive IEMs, I prefer these for vocals and classical music. The tuning is excellent for long listening sessions. Silky midrange and actual sound stage. They are also very comfortable to wear.

Warm

Very well tuned warm neutral iem. Would like to have more resolution, but I think it doesn't exist in budget iem currently.

QKZ HBB "A do it all Gem, of an IEM"

My Journey to purchasing the QKZ + HBB was a little different. I first purchased the QKZ + HBB Khan loving the way it delivers amazing mids and tinkling intricate highs… all with plenty of impressive bass…

Being a perfect consumer, and a fan of the HBB collaborations I just had to try the QKZ HBB and just see what all the hype was about.

Now in the interests of full disclosure along with the QKZ HBB I also purchased an additional QKZ Q1Max cable and I installed my Misodiko Hybrid silicone covered foam tips.

I would not have been surprised to find a steep V tuning common amongst budget IEMs with the Bloated boosted bass and sibilant screeching highs.

As mentioned in other reviews I am a HBB “Fanboy”, I enjoy a similar music library, so I was intrigued to see what he had achieved with the Titanium Coated Driver and tricked up “Specialised Magnetic Circuitry”… what ever that is…

Well lets “cut to the chase”, these are easily the richest full bass set of IEM’s I own… and dare I say it are as impressive in the bass as some of my headphones…

The overall signature of my pair of QKZ HBB are on the warmer side without being overly dark. They are easily driven and will deliver a thumping surprisingly crisp tight well tuned bass… However what you also get is the midrange only slightly recessed and wonderful treble that rolls off before ever becoming sibilant…. reminiscent of much more expensive IEM’s.

My suggestion is to listen to Jennifer Warnes singing “Way Down Deep” on the Remastered “The Hunter” album. This is a busy mix from an instrument perspective, with a number of different Drums, bass guitar, electric guitar, maracas and that “rattlesnake sound” maybe a Vibraslap… very cool all this with both male and female backup harmony… Look I’m waffling, suffice to say this track will truely put any IEM to the test… give it a try…

Anyway the QKZ HBB manages to do the impossible for $40.00NZD (maybe $20-ish USD) you will get a very fun IEM awesome for long listening sessions letting the world just melt away, or better still working out at your favourite gym getting lost in all the bass…

I have no hesitation in recommending the QKZ HBB it is a “do it all” gem of an IEM. You could spend hundred of dollars more for a lot less performance.

Enjoy

Cheers

Cliff

Bass Galore!

HBB did a wonderful job with the tunning! Vocals are slightly pushed back, but Its fine since the bass will take all your attention. The iems themselves look and feel quality and with an upgrade cable the qkz x hbb sound amazing!

Bass heads wet dream

XHBB are a very warm sounding iem with good detail retrieval and outstanding bass and richness, very energetic.

For the price it deserves no less than 5 stars.

Nice

These sounds very good can't complain for the price. But there are other options for similar price I'd prefer for the sound and and specially looks such as the Salnotes Zero or the Kiwi ears cadenza for a little more.

Solid sound

It's basically a VK4 (old version) with sibiliance removed . Excellent for the price. The metal cap adds weight and feels definitely more than it's price.
