Dual ESS ES9219C DAC Chips

Equipped with two ESS ES9219C DAC chips from the specialist ESS Technology Inc, the Shanling M0 PRO features fully balanced signal processing. That’s why this new Shanling M0 PRO ultra-portable music player is capable of reproducing all relevant data formats in hi-res audio, with impeccable signal processing and comparatively high output power.

Bi-Directional Signal Transmission

Adopting a Bluetooth 5.0 module as a transceiver, the M0 Pro can send and receive signals. It makes the bi-directional signal transmission from the smartphone, tablet or notebook to this upgrade music player possible. Besides, there is a Hi-res Audio Wireless logo on the new Shanling M0 PRO Ultra-Portable Music Player next to the regular Hi-res Audio logo. It indicates that codecs are used that enable loss-free signal transmission even in Hi-res Audio.

Special Single-Ended/Balanced 3.5mm Port

Featuring a 3.5 mm stereo mini-jack for connecting headphones, the Shanling M0 Pro utilizes a special 5-pin design to ensure a balanced connection in the smallest form factor. It is worth mentioning that the single-ended and balanced connection in this brand-new Shanling ultra-portable player can come true.

Exquisite Design & All Aluminum Case

Presenting itself with an aluminum housing, which is anodized in different colors, the Pro player comes with a USB-C port, which can be used as a USB DAC and serve to charge the integrated battery. Besides, the M0 PRO from Shanling characterizes a small touchscreen display that can serve as the central user interface for easy control. And a rotary encoder is on the side, ensuring that this player appears almost like a smartwatch.

Tiny with Excellent Audio Performance

In those years, it was still quite common for many users to rely on so-called MP3 players, especially when it came to particularly compact solutions. After years of hard work, the Chinese company Shanling once again presents with the new Shanling M0 PRO Ultra-Portable Music Player, a so-called DAP, i.e., a digital audio player. The most obvious feature of the new Shanling M0 PRO is that it is a virtually tiny solution with excellent audio performance. Therefore, you can really take with you wherever you go.

Love this tiny thing

As the title says, I love this little thing, sounds great and is nice and small. I use it with a pair of balanced Fiio inears and the combination seems to work well. A nice, full sound with enough detail not to sound muddy and a decent sound stage ( I haven't tried the EQ).
The "negatives" can't really be called negatives, as if you would like to address these issues you really would need to buy something else.

I am old so the tiny screen can be hard to read, if that's a problem the device isn't for you. The tiny screen can also make selection difficult with my big old man sausage fingers, but again, if this is a problem then it's not for you.

Set the max volume because if you have pressed the dial and then accidentally move it the volume can blow your ears out, I just did that because wow, it gets loud.

The way of creating a playlist seems a bit of a faff to be honest so, well, I haven't.

It's a shame the memory card support isn't larger, but then if this is a problem for you, well (you know what is coming next) this isn't the product for you!

Despite all of this, at the discounted price I paid (less than £100) I love this thing, tiny, sounds great, the battery has a decent life and even with my giant sausage fingers, when I put my glasses on I can get around it pretty easily.

I haven't yet tried it as a player connected to the Hifi so can't speak on that.

It has loads of features ( a lot of which I probably don't use as I should) so if you can get it at a discounted sale piece buy it, even if you can't and you want a great little thing to play your music on the go, then get it. And yes I could use my S24 Plus, but I use local storage, not a streamer, and I like to keep my memory available for video, plus, even putting the 24 through a decent DAC, this sounds better, what can you do?

No regrets. Get one (or a bigger one if the "cons" are game changers) plug in some decent IEMS or overears and away you go.

LOVE this little guy!

Size, price point, sound, ease of use all wonderful. Battery life could be better & I would have loved a balanced connector included in the box, rather than as separate purchase. Design-wise, the volume wheel seems less sturdy than the non-pro version of MO. Type c connection charging point doesn’t go all the way into device. It is not a charging issue per se, just an observation.
Pleased with service & delivery speed. All in good order.
Many thanks, Linsoul!

Hey, i let my unit test by Amir from Audio science review. Stay tuned for that!

For me the player is great. Yes Batterylife ist just ok. I use it alot with bluetooth and the battery last only 6-8h.
I am not shure how long it would last if i play only music on the player.

Sound is good, the eq is also ok.

On my unit the included USB cable is only for chargeing not for data transfer.

There are no instructions in the box, but the interface is very intuitiv. So i had no problems to navigate.

If your connector of the headphones is a bit on the bigger side, you may not be able to charge und listen to musik at the same time.

Price is really cheap!! Better than an ipod!

All Aspects Very Good But…..

All good as far as sound.
Two things that are annoying. Battery doesn’t seem to last as long as it should.
Bluetooth connection can be very difficult.
Wish it had WiFi!

Very small and powerful

This sound amazing for its size and price. You'll need to buy a special cable to use the balanced output but it's worth it. Its very convenient to connect to phone with the Shanling app and browse the media using your phone instead of the player but without album covers. Battery life is just ok, Maybe future firmware gets an additional star, it's 4 stars for now =)
