Introducing the ONIX Zenith XST20
The Shanling ONIX Zenith XST20 ushers in a new era for desktop digital transports. Positioned above Shanling’s core lineup, it’s the first model in the new ONIX series—soon to be joined by a Linux-based streamer/transport and a standalone DAC—designed to deliver uncompromising SACD and CD playback in a sleek, modern chassis.
Robust CNC Construction & Top-Loader Design
Crafted from solid CNC-machined aluminum in Shanling’s signature ONIX styling, the Zenith XST20 features a top-loader mechanism complete with a classic CD clamp for enhanced stability. Its all-metal body provides excellent vibration damping, ensuring cleaner disc reads compared to earlier designs.
Advanced Playback Engine
At its heart sits the HD870 laser assembly, capable of handling SACD, CD, Hybrid SACD, and MQA 4× discs. Native DSD output is available over every digital port—not just USB. True gapless SACD playback guarantees seamless transitions between tracks, while multi-layer SACD switching and MOA-CD support further expand its universal compatibility.
Comprehensive Digital Connectivity
Whether you’re feeding a flagship DAC or integrating into a larger system, the Zenith XST20 provides an I2S connection via an FPGA-assisted 10-pin output. BNC, AES, coaxial, optical, and USB ports round out its digital I/O, making it the perfect universal transport for any high-end DAC’s input requirements.
Precision Power and High-Precision Clock
A 25 VA Talema toroidal transformer delivers clean, stable power to the transport mechanism. A built-in 48.1584 MHz high-precision clock then minimizes jitter, ensuring rock-steady timing and clarity—essential for top-tier DSD and PCM playback.
Intuitive Touchscreen Interface
Navigating your disc library is effortless on the bright 3.4-Inch Touchscreen, which runs a simple Linux-based system. Browse, select, and control playback with fingertip ease, or reach for the included metal remote when you’re seated across the room.
