The nearest IEM, in price and quality, that I have tried to the EJ07 is the Sony IER-Z1R. Although it is difficult to imagine anyone being disappointed with the Sonys, I personally find the EJ07 preferable in sound signature across a greater range of music. The slightly curbed treble, in particular, is just right for me, far from "dark": suited, I'd say, to the actual human capacity for parsing audio detail while still being able to comfortably enjoy a wide spectrum of music. In other words, do not be put off by claims that the treble is this set's weak point. Give it a try, if you can, and compare it with your favorite "treble" choice on specific songs, specific moments. The tuning is bold, maybe not trendy, but far-seeing, I think. It achieves a wonderful dynamic. Looking forward to what Shuoer produces at this level next!
