MEMS Technology Meets Tribrid Setup

MEMS (micro-electromechanical systems) is a solid state speaker using silicon chips and passive components for a piezoelectric effect. Without the need for traditional acoustic components such as coils and diaphragms, MEMS excels at speed and achieving high-resolutions, particularly in the ultra-treble frequencies. Combined with traditional balanced armature and dynamic drivers, Halcyon achieves one of the world’s first tribrid configurations to benefit from MEMS’ ultra resolution.

Producing the best sounding audio solutions for musicians and audiophiles.

We focus on developing the latest technological driver innovations with refined tuning strategies that reveal every nuance in your music and performance. Started in 2019, Kiwi Ears has since achieved global recognition for our innovative and high-performing in-ear monitors. We’re bringing melodies that inspire.

Best-In-Class Tonal Signature

The Halcyon combines technical performance with exceptional tonal balance. Following Kiwi Ear’s famed tonal signature, the Halcyon provides a studio monitor-like neutral tuning with an enhanced sub-bass boost. The sub-bass shelf features a balanced 8dB bass boost, which is cleanly cut at 200Hz for bloat-free midrange.

The mids are natural and clean, mirroring the accuracy of studio monitors. This enhances instruments and vocals and provides exceptional imaging and layering precision. The treble peaks precisely at 3kHz for a perfect pinna gain compensation, and has a treble decay that is fitted to modern tuning preference signatures.

Excellence in Driver Technology

The Halcyon combines the best of both traditional and modern driver technologies. A 10mm composite diaphragm dynamic driver powers the sub-bass for a powerful, yet well-controlled and tight bass response. This provides a real subwoofer-like bass experience, while keeping the midrange clean and free from discoloration. The midrange is powered by two DEK-series custom balanced armature drivers, specifically tuned to give a natural tonal balance to instruments and vocals. The trebles are fitted with a custom WBFK-series balanced armature tweeter, which is paired with Kiwi Ear’s MEMS driver to achieve ultra-high resolution.
