XuanWu Gate II represents a comprehensive evolution of the original flagship, with upgrades spanning materials, craftsmanship, and acoustic tuning. The first generation's aviation-grade aluminum alloy shell and terraced metal faceplate have evolved into a substantial all-copper cavity and intricately carved divine beast relief faceplate, giving the second generation a more premium tactile presence and a stronger connection to traditional Chinese aesthetics.
9-Driver Flagship Acoustic Architecture
XuanWu Gate II features a 1DD + 4BA + 4EST configuration on each side, doubling the number of electrostatic drivers compared with the first generation's 1DD + 4BA + 2EST setup. The self-developed 10mm wood diaphragm dynamic driver establishes a deep and natural foundation, four customized balanced armatures reproduce vocal and mid-to-high-frequency details, while four Sonion electrostatic drivers extend the ultra-high frequencies for greater openness, clarity, and atmosphere.

The self-developed 10mm wood diaphragm dynamic driver forms the foundation of XuanWu Gate II's acoustic architecture. The unique structure of wood fiber brings a warm, natural texture and rich detail to the sound, creating a smooth and musical foundation that complements the precision of the balanced armature and electrostatic drivers.
Four Sonion Electrostatic Drivers
Four Sonion electrostatic drivers work alongside the dynamic and balanced armature drivers to enhance high-frequency detail and transparency. Their extremely thin diaphragms help reproduce subtle musical information with greater precision, improving separation and density while adding a relaxed, energetic presentation and a rich sense of atmosphere.
Four Customized Balanced Armature Drivers
Four customized composite balanced armature drivers are responsible for the mid-high and high frequencies, working together under the crossover design to provide rich detail, smooth transitions between frequency ranges, and a distinctive timbre. Their coordinated performance complements the dynamic and electrostatic drivers for a cohesive and refined overall presentation.
Full-Copper Construction with Divine Beast Relief
The XuanWu Gate II features a full-copper acoustic cavity and a faceplate inspired by the lion-head pushou found on Tang Dynasty royal gates. Surrounding auspicious cloud motifs and an aged-bronze finish create a strong sense of historical character, while the flowing side textures draw inspiration from the contour lines of Chinese terraced landscapes, blending traditional Chinese artistry with modern audio craftsmanship.
Ergonomic Design for Extended Listening
Despite the substantial feel of its copper construction, XuanWu Gate II is carefully shaped for comfortable long-term wear. The shell curvature and nozzle angle have been optimized to increase contact with the ear and distribute pressure more evenly, while the custom-developed eartips help provide a secure and comfortable fit during extended listening sessions.
