Built for Precision Audio Measurement
Cosmos ADC DM is purpose-built as a measurement-grade Analog-to-PCM Digital Converter for audio engineers, DIY enthusiasts, technology reviewers, and audio measurement applications. Its ultra-low-noise architecture and carefully selected components provide the measurement performance required for evaluating DACs, amplifiers, and other audio equipment with high precision.
Dual ES9822Pro ADC Architecture
At the heart of Cosmos ADC DM are two ES9822Pro ADC chips supported by a precision analog front end using OPA1612 and RT6863S operational amplifiers. High-quality components from Susumu, Viking, Murata, and Samsung are used throughout the circuit to maintain signal integrity and minimize unwanted noise and distortion during conversion.
Ultra-Low THD+N Performance
At 1kHz, -0.5dBFS, 48kHz sampling rate, and 20Hz–20kHz bandwidth, Cosmos ADC DM achieves typical THD+N of -125dB for Grade-B units, -126dB for Grade-A units, and -127dB for Grade-0 units. All harmonics are typically below -140dB, providing an exceptionally clean measurement platform for high-performance audio equipment.
High-Resolution PCM Conversion
The ADC supports PCM conversion up to 32-bit/768kHz through its isolated USB-C data interface. Its frequency response extends from 0.8Hz to 320kHz at 32-bit/768kHz and -3dB, depending on the selected interpolation filter, making it suitable for wide-band audio measurement and analysis.
Flexible XLR & AUX Inputs
Cosmos ADC DM provides two measurement input options for different testing requirements. The XLR input supports up to 10Vrms, while the AUX 2.5mm input supports up to 43Vrms. Multiple selectable input ranges and impedance configurations allow the ADC to accommodate a wide range of measurement signals while maintaining low-noise performance.
Built-In Thermostat Control
The Cosmos ADC DM incorporates a built-in temperature stabilization system controlled through the TweakCosmosADC_DM software. The thermostat can help reduce harmonic distortion by maintaining a more stable operating condition, although enabling it may also increase the noise floor depending on the measurement setup.
High Isolation for Clean Digital Output
The USB-C data interface is electrically isolated with an 8pF connection, helping minimize unwanted interference between the measurement system and digital interface. The ADC outputs high-resolution PCM data directly to the connected computer for use with compatible measurement and analysis software.
Low-Latency Measurement
Cosmos ADC DM achieves approximately 5ms latency at 192kHz when measured with ASIO4ALL and REW. This makes it suitable for real-time measurement workflows and applications where accurate physical delay is important.
Precision-Crafted Aluminum Construction
The assembled Cosmos ADC DM uses a sandblasted and black-anodized aluminum chassis with laser-marked details. Its compact construction measures approximately 104 × 61 × 39mm and weighs around 157g when assembled, making it practical for both desktop measurement setups and portable testing environments.
