A Classic, Reimagined, Fine-Tuned Energy Distribution
RSV-MKII builds upon the acclaimed foundation of the original RSV without altering the driver configuration, instead refining sound through precise impedance adjustments across low, mid, and high frequencies. This optimization carefully redistributes energy, creating deeper and more powerful bass, improved accuracy and clarity in the midrange, and a smoother, more refined treble. It represents not just a simple refresh but a genuine upgrade to Softears’ classic tuning.
Upgraded Cross-Over Component Architecture
The RSV-MKII adopts Softears’ exclusive LRC tuning network, featuring a 4-tube, 4-way crossover with seven precision components for enhanced tonal balance and accuracy. Its upgraded dual-tube bass design eliminates the metallic, tinny character often associated with BA drivers, improving acoustic consistency across the sound path and achieving greater coherence throughout the frequency spectrum.
Low-Frequency Drivers, Long Stroke and Powerful Impact
At the foundation of the low end are dual Knowles CI22955 balanced armature drivers—the largest BA models in mainstream use. Known as “living fossils” in the industry since their introduction in 1982, they feature a long-stroke diaphragm and a central guiding pin that minimizes vibration splitting, enabling powerful bass with strong atmospheric presence.
Midrange Driver with Delicate Vocals and Precise Imaging
For the midrange, the improved ED driver, first launched in 1988, delivers Softears’ signature vocal texture with smooth cohesion, precise imaging, and lifelike tonality that captures emotional detail without graininess. Vocals are reproduced with moderate distance, natural clarity, and unique tonal character that enhances the overall presentation.
High-Frequency Driver with Clear Tone and High Resolution
At the top end, a SWFK composite driver produces clear treble with excellent resolution, reproducing instrument timbre and complex layering naturally while maintaining fatigue-free listening even during extended sessions.
Dual Pressure Relief, Air Pressure Balance Adjustment System
To ensure long-term wearability, the RSV-MKII integrates Softears’ patented passive air-damping system (Patent No: CN202122764459.7) inherited from the flagship RS10, which improves frequency response, enhances bass texture, and relieves pressure during listening. For the first time in Softears’ full-BA models, it also introduces an airflow pressure relief system optimized through acoustic simulation to balance ear canal pressure dynamically, further reducing fatigue. Combined with the precision 3D-printed cavity and anti-slip lip nozzle design, the earphones maintain stable fit, improved sealing, and comfort during long listening sessions.
Craftsmanship Tempered with Aesthetic Totem Design
The RSV-MKII is not only about pure sound but also about refined aesthetics. Each faceplate undergoes multiple stages of precision CNC machining, with a fine anodized matte finish and a distinct V-shaped groove at the center. This groove is inlaid with irregular, multi-layer cast carbon fiber, precisely embedded through CNC engraving to create visual depth and distinctiveness. The upper shell carries the subtle RS emblem, double-anodized to highlight Softears’ design identity, combining durability with understated elegance.
Pure Copper Cable for Cleaner Transmission
The included pure copper cable is made of 6N high-purity stranded oxygen-free copper, using a 19-strand reverse-twist structure to reduce resistance, minimize signal loss, and ensure uniform current distribution. Multiple cryogenic treatments refine the conductor’s crystal structure, lower the noise floor, and enhance micro-detail reproduction, resulting in clearer highs, fuller mids and lows, and a more expansive soundstage. The universal 0.78mm 2-pin connector supports cable replacement, while the nickel-free gold-plated 4.4mm balanced plug, paired with a 4.4-to-3.5mm adapter, guarantees excellent conductivity, corrosion resistance, and compatibility with mainstream devices.
UC and Type-B Eartips for Versatile Listening
Two sets of eartips are included for tuning flexibility. UC eartips offer soft comfort, improved sealing, and a presentation of solid lows with clear highs. Type-B eartips, used as the standard reference in Softears’ R&D tuning process, deliver balanced sound and are especially suited for earphones with slightly larger nozzles.
